VVS Laxman set to be named BCCI's first Director of Cricket

Ex-India batter VVS Laxman is set to become BCCI's first Director of Cricket next month, reports said. Laxman currently heads BCCI's Centre of Excellence. The new role would give him oversight of cricket, including staff appointments, pathways and coordination with coaches and selectors. It would reportedly place him above head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar in hierarchy.
