Hong Kong welcomes dogs into restaurants as 30-year-old ban ends

More than 900 restaurants and eateries in Hong Kong welcomed customers with dogs on the first day of a new scheme allowing canines inside. The move follows the end of a 30-year ban introduced to prevent rabies. The law was amended this year amid public demand. Hong Kong is home to over 400,000 pet cats and dogs.
