Study links adult procrastination to adolescent brain development

A study suggested that chronic procrastination in adulthood is linked to how brain develops during adolescence. It found adolescents who procrastinated as adults showed differences in nucleus accumbens (NAcc), a subcortical brain region associated with reward-related processes. Adults with higher procrastination showed altered neurotransmitter systems, including dopamine and serotonin receptors.
