What can one do if bank refuses to return gold after loan repayment?

Banks may retain pledged gold even after a loan is repaid in certain circumstances, such as when the borrower has other outstanding liabilities. If a bank refuses to release the gold, the borrower should seek a written explanation and complain through its grievance mechanism. If unresolved within 30 days, the borrower can approach the RBI Ombudsman.
