World's 1st IVF female calf of Lakhimi breed born in Assam

The world's first IVF female calf of the Lakhimi breed, which is native to Assam, has been born at the state's veterinary and fishery university. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma called it a convergence of "Sabhyata, Sanskriti, and Srijan" and congratulated the veterinary scientists. Earlier this year, Assam's first IVF-born calf from the Gir breed had been born.
