The Pentagon is seeking congressional approval to officially rename US' 'Department of Defence' to 'Department of War'. Pentagon's proposal added that the change would require $52 million and would have no impact on US President Donald Trump's 2027 defence budget proposal. The Pentagon further said the department name change would make around 7,600 changes to federal laws.
