Karnataka Water Resources Minister Ramalinga Reddy said they cannot release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The DMK accused the Congress of failing to secure Tamil Nadu's share despite being in power in Karnataka and an ally of the ruling TVK in Tamil Nadu. The Karnataka government rejected the charge, saying Cauvery Water Management Authority decides water releases based on availability.
