BJP MP Bhim Singh introduced a Private Member's Bill in the Rajya Sabha seeking the removal of the words "secular" and "socialist" from the Preamble of the Constitution. He argued that these words were added in an "undemocratic" manner during the Emergency. Singh added, "The words create confusion and were not a part of the original Constitution."
