Around 1,000 tribal households living in villages surrounding Gujarat's Statue of Unity are being equipped with biogas plants with 665 units already installed as project entered final phase. It has been done under government initiative aimed at promoting household energy self-reliance and reducing dependence on LPG cylinders. Work is underway to complete installations in remaining 300 households.
