Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, killed in a US-Israel strike on Saturday, had survived a bomb attack that permanently paralysed his right arm. In June 1981, while serving as President during the Iran-Iraq war, Khamenei visited a mosque where a man placed a tape recorder packed with explosives before him. The tape recorder later detonated, leaving Khamenei's arm permanently paralysed.
