Jesse Van Rootselaar, an 18-year-old transgender woman, was identified as the suspect in Canada's Tumbler Ridge school shooting, which killed 9 and injured dozens of teenagers, said the police. She killed her mother and stepbrother before attacking the school. Jesse was a biological male and began transitioning six years ago. She was found dead from "self-inflicted" injury at the scene.
