Congress govt asked me to quit: Karnataka Council Chairman Horatti
Basavaraj Horatti, Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman and BJP leader, resigned on Friday after reportedly being asked to step down by the ruling Congress government. Horatti stated that Congress high command directed him to quit or face a no-confidence motion. "I don't know why [government] asked me to resign," he said. Congress has nominated senior leader Saleem Ahmed to succeed Horatti.
