The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas revealed that 5.01 lakh new PNG (piped natural gas) connections have been recorded since March 2026. It added that 5.68 lakh customers were registered for new PNG connections and 39,400 consumers surrendered their LPG connections. This comes amid the government's push for households to shift to PNG connections amid the Middle East war.
