BSE Sensex jumped 1,095 points to the day's high of 77,982.51 on Wednesday before eventually closing at 77,496.36. Similarly, Nifty50 jumped 339 points to 24,334.70 before closing at 24,177.65. The initial surge is being attributed to high Q4 FY26 earnings of some companies and buying at dip. The market fell later due to rising crude oil prices and profit booking.
