Villagers lock Odisha panchayat office over water crisis

Residents of Badadundu Gram Panchayat in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, locked the panchayat office for four hours on October 31, protesting contaminated drinking water supplied unfiltered from a river, causing jaundice and kidney ailments. One death was reported. The lock was removed after the Sarpanch gave a written assurance to resolve the water issue within 15 days.
