Extreme endurance running may accelerate ageing: Study

A study published in Blood Red Cells & Iron found that extreme endurance running can accelerate ageing. Ultramarathon running can damage red blood cells, making them less flexible and reducing oxygen delivery. While moderate running boosts health, extreme endurance may cause anaemia-like effects, though long-term impacts on the body remain unclear.
