Indonesia has summoned officials from Meta and Google over alleged non-compliance with new social media rules restricting users under 16, now fully in force. Both ​companies had earlier claimed safeguards for ​children were in place. Notably, Indonesia's communications minister, Meutya Hafid, stated that failure to implement the rules may result in sanctions or even a block on the platform.
