World number four Coco Gauff backed Women's Tennis Association (WTA)'s one-time, mandatory genetic test for all players, noting it helps protect fairness in women's sports. She, however, highlighted that the decision has created "a lot of animosity towards the trans community". Gauff added people "who don't really care" are just using this as a reason to attack the trans community.
