US President Donald Trump has signed a "historic" directive asking the country's military to accelerate the adoption of AI that's "robust, steerable, and controllable". In a reference to the months-old showdown with Anthropic, the directive said no company can "disable, degrade or modify an AI system...without prior approval". The order also ensured that US won't use AI for mass surveillance.
