Why does time move faster on Moon than on Earth?
short by Ashley Paul / on Tuesday, 3 December, 2024
Time on Moon moves 56.02 microseconds faster each day than on Earth, as per US researchers' study. This is because time and gravity are linked, which is explained by Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity. As per the theory, stronger gravitational fields, like Earth's, slow down passage of time. With Moon's gravity being 1/6th of Earth's, clocks on Moon run faster.
