Earthquake strikes near Andaman & Nicobar Islands

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Thursday. According to USGS, the epicentre was recorded 218 km north-northwest of Bamboo Flat in the Andaman. The Union Territory has experienced seismic activity in recent months, with National Centre for Seismology recording a magnitude 4.6 earthquake in the region in February 2026.
