CBSE used On-Screen Marking system to evaluate lakhs of Class 12 answer sheets, which were scanned as PDFs. Instead of traditional ways, evaluators entered marks into a specialised platform that automatically calculated totals, reducing human error. Around 13,000 sheets had to be checked manually due to their illegibility, said Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy.
