Ghana's parliament on Friday ‌approved a new bill that imposes a prison term ranging from three to five years for "funding, sponsorship or promotion" of LGBTQ+ acts. Exemptions are included for legal, media and healthcare professionals reporting on LGBTQ+ issues. Same-sex relationships were already banned in the West African nation, and the bill introduces a "duty to report" such acts.
