World Health Organization's (WHO) regional Director-elect for Africa, Faustine Ndugulile, died aged 55 while receiving treatment in India, Tanzania's Parliament Speaker Tulia Ackson said on Wednesday. Ndugulile was elected as next leader of WHO Africa in August and was set to start his new role in February 2025. "Shocked and deeply saddened," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.
