Egypt's second goal against Argentina was disallowed after VAR spotted a foul in the buildup. Egypt's Mostafa Ziko thought he had made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute, but official Jerome Brisard advised referee François Letexier to review Marwan Attia's challenge on Lisandro Martínez. Letexier ruled that Attia held Martínez's shirt and stepped on his foot, and disallowed the goal.
