India-Bangladesh bus service resumes after 18 months as BNP comes to power

The Royal-Maitri international bus service on Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata and Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala routes has resumed after 18 months. This marks a significant step in restoring cross-border connectivity between India and Bangladesh as Tarique Rahman-led Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) came to power. The service was suspended due to political instability in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina's ouster.
