Scientists find hidden water in Mars that could've supported life

Researchers at New York University found evidence that underground water once flowed beneath the surface of Mars, potentially creating protected habitats for microscopic life. Studying ancient Martian dunes they concluded that water persisted beneath the Red planet’s surface long after its lakes and rivers dried up. Such environments could have served as safe havens for survival of microbial life.
