As part of his party’s poll promises, TVK chief Vijay announced Thaai Maaman Gold Ring Scheme on Saturday. Under the scheme, a gold ring will be given to each newborn in Tamil Nadu along with a baby welcome kit. The kit will contain nutritional supplements, baby clothes, baby soap, baby oil, baby powder, mosquito nets, toys, napkins and diapers.
