Bank of Korea hikes interest rates after over three years

South Korea's central bank raised its benchmark interest rates for the first time in three-and-a-half years amid inflation risks. The bank raised the interest rates by 25 basis points to 2.75% and said that the country's inflation will remain high for "a considerable time". The bank further said South Korea's economic growth rate is expected to exceed its 2.6% forecast.
