OpenAI has launched GPT-5.4 mini and GPT-5.4 nano, its most capable small models yet. The new models improve on earlier versions across tasks such as coding, computer use, multimodal understanding and data extraction, and can be used to build subagents that handle simpler supporting tasks. GPT-5.4 mini is available via the API, Codex and ChatGPT.
