Japan has deployed a virtual AI police chief, named 'AIko', to spread awareness regarding different kinds of scams, which reportedly cost the country a record $2 billion last year. The name 'AIko' is a combination of AI and 'ko' which is a Japanese feminine name suffix. The avatar made her public debut on the Osaka Prefectural Police’s YouTube channel.
