'You don't want people to remain healthy?,' SC asks FSSAI over labels on packaged food
The Supreme Court on Thursday criticised the FSSAI for its reluctance to introduce 'Front-of-Pack Warning Labels' on packaged foods, especially to indicate the amounts of sugar, salt, or saturated fat. "You don't want people in this country to remain healthy? More particularly, growing children?" SC asked. The top court had passed an order to that effect in February 2026.
