Senegal approves harsher anti-LGBTQ laws, doubles prison sentence

Senegal lawmakers on Wednesday approved a bill that doubles the maximum ‌prison term for same-sex sexual acts. The new bill says "acts against nature" can be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years and fines of up to 10 million CFA francs (over ₹16 lakh). As per the bill, "acts against nature" include ​homosexuality, bisexuality, transsexuality, zoophilia and necrophilia.
