The second season of Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan starrer 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' has been cancelled by Amazon MGM Studios. The Italian spin-off 'Citadel: Diana', starring Matilda De Angelis, has also been cancelled. The storylines of 'Citadel: Honey Bunny' and 'Citadel: Diana' will be woven into the second season of 'Citadel', which stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden.
Sensex jumps 1,000 points after falling in early trade

Sensex jumped 1,000 points on Thursday during noon and was trading above 78,000, hours after falling over 360 points in early trade. Nifty reclaimed the 23,700-mark in a strong intraday recovery, led by firm global cues and sustained foreign fund inflows. Eternal (Zomato), Airtel, Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank and SBI were among the top gainers on the Sensex.

The BCCI warned IPL teams & players about a suspicious Hyderabad businessman over attempts to entice them into potentially corrupt activities. The BCCI told the IPL stakeholders that the businessman has "dubious credentials" and he's actively seeking to trap individuals involved in IPL, Cricbuzz reported. The Anti-Corruption Security Unit urged the stakeholders to report any interactions with him.

A Cambridge University team of scientists using the James Webb Space Telescope obtained what they're calling the strongest signs yet of possible life beyond our solar system. A giant planet 'K2-18' appears to reveal chemical fingerprints of two compounds only known to be produced by life on Earth. These are dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and dimethyl disulfide (DMD).

Gold hits fresh all-time high, breaches ₹98,000-mark for 1st time

Gold prices jumped by ₹1,650 to hit a fresh all-time high of ₹98,100 per 10 grams in Delhi on Wednesday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Gold of 99.9% purity had closed at ₹96,450 per 10 grams on Tuesday. Silver prices also surged by ₹1,900 to hit ₹99,400 per kg from Tuesday's closing level of ₹97,500 per kg.

Undoing Waqf by user could create a problem: SC to Centre

During a hearing challenging the Waqf Act's validity, Supreme Court commented that denotifying 'Waqf by user' could create problems. "You cannot say there is no genuine Waqf by the user," SC told Centre's counsel Solicitor General Tushar Mehta. The earlier Waqf Act recognised Waqf by user, meaning that properties would remain as Waqf properties even if the user doesn't exist.

Justice BR Gavai to take oath as next CJI on May 14

Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna has written to the Union Law Ministry, recommending Justice BR Gavai as his successor. Upon approval by the government, Justice Gavai will take oath as the next CJI on May 14. Elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court on May 24, 2019, Justice Gavai is due to retire on November 23, 2025.
