Scientists find molten 'liquid planet' that smells like rotten eggs

Scientists have identified a new class of exoplanets that remain permanently molten, expanding current understanding of planetary types. The discovery, based on L 98-59 d observed via the James Webb Space Telescope, revealed planets that appeared to be covered entirely in magma with temperatures reaching nearly 1,900°C. Its atmosphere contains hydrogen sulfide gases, giving a rotten egg smell.
