India targets first space station module launch by 2028

ISRO's Gaganyaan mission is advancing at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, with crew module and safety systems under development. India plans phased missions in 2027–28. The Bhartiya Antariksha Station's first module is set for 2028 launch, with full operability by 2035. India also aims to send an astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
