Saudi Arabia asked Pakistan to put on hold a $1.5-billion weapons supply deal with Sudan, marking a big loss for the cash-strapped country, Reuters reported. Saudi Arabia had reportedly brokered the deal, but asked Pakistan to terminate it after dropping the idea of financing it. Some Western countries reportedly asked Saudi Arabia to stay away from proxy wars in Africa.
