India named best combined nation at Chess Olympiad for 3rd straight edition

India retained the Nona Gaprindashvili Trophy at Chess Olympiad 2026 in Samarkand after finishing second in the Open section and third in the Women's section. The trophy is awarded to the federation with the best combined finish across both events. India have now won it at three consecutive Olympiads, having also claimed it in Chennai 2022 and Budapest 2024.
