AI researchers smoking cigarettes to prove how good AI is: Palantir's Indian-origin CTO

Palantir's Indian-origin CTO Shyam Sankar claimed many AI researchers have started smoking cigarettes to prove how good AI is. "[It's] a way of signalling...how much they believe in AI...I believe so much...that it's going to cure cancer. So I will [smoke]. I'm showing you my chips are all in," Sankar told CBS News. He said there's "social delusion" around AI.
