US court halts 1st execution of a woman in Tennessee in 200 years

US appeals court temporarily halted execution of 50-year-old Christa Pike, who would have become Tennessee's first woman to be executed in over 200 years. This came just two hours before she was scheduled for a lethal injection for a 1995 murder. Court is reviewing Pike's claim that her allegations of childhood sexual abuse and trauma were inadequately considered during sentencing.
