A 22-year-old man died from a venomous snake bite in Chhattisgarh's Korba district, following which locals set the snake ablaze on his funeral pyre on Sunday. Some locals claimed they burned the snake out of fear that it would bite someone else. The man was bitten by a common krait while preparing his bed at home.
