China's market regulator has fined Trip.com Group 5.2 billion yuan (₹7,436 crore) for allegedly abusing its dominant position in the online hotel-booking market. The travel platform used pricing rules, traffic allocation and technical measures to secure exclusive deals with hotels. The State Administration for Market Regulation confiscated illegal gains and imposed an additional penalty.
