Blowing the nose too hard can cause several issues. Since the nasal cavity and ears are connected by Eustachian tube, the potential exists that a person could blow some of the bacteria from the nose into the ear, causing an infection. If there is substantial blockage and a person blows the nose really hard, it may rupture the ear drum.
