India's powerlifting star Priyanka worked at store to fund her training

Maharashtra's Priyanka Parekh won gold for India at the 2026 Commonwealth Equipped Powerlifting Championships in Canada. She worked at a sportswear store in Mumbai to fund her powerlifting dreams, The Better India reported. Competing in the Junior 47 kg category, she lifted 347.5 kg across the squat, bench press and deadlift. She said she balanced training and work through discipline.
