A 21-year-old student, Cheenglai Lapka Chongtham, along with 30 fellow Manipuri students removed over 600 kg of waste from Dehradun. The initiative, which started near their college area, evolved into a movement with over 2,000 young people joining them to remove waste from local sites in Dehradun. Several videos showed young people collecting trash in bags to discard it.
