India and US are close to finalising a refreshed trade agreement after global disruptions led to changes in negotiations, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. "Whenever there were changed circumstances...the deal had to be calibrated so that India gets preferential access in US markets," he said. Discussions are underway to settle issues related to US investigations under Section 301, he added.
