A US National Trade Estimate report criticised the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for favouring domestic players over foreign companies. The report mentioned that NPCI earlier proposed a 30% market share cap for foreign payment service suppliers processing UPI payments. The Finance Ministry hasn't enforced this market share ceiling yet, the report noted.
