Tahawwur Rana, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has been successfully extradited to India, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced on Thursday. Calling Rana the "key conspirator behind the 2008 mayhem", NIA said, "Extradition finally came through after Rana exhausted all legal avenues." US' Supreme Court had recently denied Rana's plea against extradition.

A multi-agency team that went to US to bring 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana, landed in Delhi on Thursday, said reports. Tahawwur was reportedly brought to India on a special flight that landed at Palam airbase. The 64-year-old was caught in US in 2009 and India sought his extradition for trial for attack which killed over 160 people.
