Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the Union Budget 2026-27 on Sunday, proposed raising the duty-free import limit for specified inputs used in seafood processing for export from 1% to 3% of the previous year's FOB export value. She also announced extending the existing duty-free import benefit for leather and synthetic footwear exports to include exporters of shoe uppers.
