Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali criticised Pakistan opener Saim Ayub after he scored 7(7) in their T20 World Cup 2026 Super Eight match against England. He said that Ayub doesn't have "belief" in his batting. Basit added, "He is the favourite of all. That's the matter in his case. Whoever becomes the captain, he becomes the favourite of that captain."
